The former Royal Oak Hotel, in the centre of Keswick, was architecturally converted into individual holiday apartments. All the amenities Keswick offers are available right on the doorstep, so your car need never leave its allocated parking space.

Loft 10 is an extremely bright apartment at the top of the building, accessed through a communal entrance with stairs leading up to the third floor. Renovated to a high standard with a contemporary style, it is delightfully decorated and enjoys stunning views over the rooftops of Keswick towards Skiddaw.

Derwentwater and the Theatre by the Lake are just a 10-minute stroll away through the beautifully landscaped Hope Park Memorial Gardens, which also features mini-golf, crazy golf and putting. The Keswick Launch Company operates regular trips around the lake each day, with numerous drop-off points if you wish to continue exploring on foot.

Keswick is renowned for its spectacular setting, surrounded by mountains, a vast array of outdoor activity shops, and a great selection of pubs and restaurants. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards. Osprey (CC111395), Fellside (UK1011), Loft 10 (UK1107) and Causey Pike (UK10815) can be booked together to accommodate up to 16 guests.

    My feeling here is that this is being run and light touch as possible in terms of upkeep, probably to save money or maybe the cleaning / maintenance team are not pro-active enough which lets down an otherwise good apartment.Its a great location and great to have parking allocated in central Keswick. As other reviewers pointed out the shower is very poor. Shower wont maintain temperature, low pressure. Very frustrating. I doubt there is anything the owner can do though as suspect to building pressure is the problem and difficult to modify.The cleaners/agent need to ensure the bed sheets are in good condition/things are cleaned properly. Some of the sheets had been washed but had stains which isnt appealing. Minimal amenities in the kitchen for cooking and cleaning, Lack of bin bags. Tea Towel smelt damp and fusty. All a bit of a let down in this area although again I suspect is being run on a shoe string.However, possibly had been re-painted relatively recently which was a positive. I accept the "whats included?" list is very small so be aware to take everything you need. Including extra toilet roll, washing up clothes/tea towels/dish washer tablets etc.TV is a bit old and outdated. Suggest bring a laptop and hook up via HMDI to watch anything other than live tv. Internet / wifi was good.

    Great place to stay while exploring the town and surrounding area

    We had a wonderful time, everything was great. The place was clean, a full kitchen- washer/dryer was helpful. Literally perfect location with the added bonus of a car parking space. Only downside was the lift wasnt working- my husband had to do a lot of carrying up the three flights of stairs as we had a baby with us- and quite a bit of luggage. Also the shower needs updating and wasnt very powerful. Would definitely come back as the location and views were wonderful.
