Within the surrounding area you will find challenging hikes up Skiddaw and the Catbells, whilst Bassenthwaite Lake offers a gentle stroll.

It needs a new fridge/freezer but I expect they know that. The internet is limited and far better outside with 5G

We've booked again for next year. Only complaint is the bathroom - think the toilet is leaking and the seal at the bottom of the shower door needs replaced. Water was all over the floor every time we used it. That being said, we left a note about it so hopefully, it will have been addressed before next family arrived.

E. different birds and red squirrels. We actually didn't see any red squirrels, despite putting some nuts in the squirrel feeder we found on the fence, and very few varieties of birds, although there was a sparrow hawk regularly about. It would perhaps be helpful to reinstate the bird feeder somewhere in the garden to attract the birds. It was however a stunning location with beautiful views from every window and we really enjoyed our stay. We will recommend the cottage to others, and potentially will also be back ourselves one day. as it was a fabulous location, fabulous cottage and fabulous scenery - thank you.
