The dining room has matching picture windows with views to Helvellyn and the Vale of St John and the large dining table is the ideal place to relax in the evening over dinner with family and friends. The Romans lived at Threlkeld from the third to the eighth centuries, while the Norse arrived later. Threlkeld has a history dating back more than 800 years. The village's two taverns initially opened their doors in 1688, while the church there goes back to 1578.The settlement is quiet and unspoiled with beautiful views of Blencathra and the Helvellyn range while being just a few kilometres outside of Keswick.

The house is big and comfortable. We could enjoy beautiful views from the house. The welcome drink and snacks provided are a surprise. Although the house has four bedrooms for eight people, the tables in the kitchen and dining room are set for six people only and we need to move the chairs around as we have seven in our group. It would be nice if more of the pepper and salt, tea and coffee, and sugar can be provided for our whole stay. Besides, It will be nice if washing powder/detergent for use in the washing machine can be provided. Overall, a very good accommodation to stay.

Lovely views. Hedges could do with being trimmed to further enhance view. Spacious house, very clean, kitchen equipment perhaps needs replacing as not in brilliant condition. Could do with more crockery and utensils. Beds comfortable. Settees not so comfortable. Overall an excellent holiday home and suited our requirements.

It was certainly spacious and had all the facilities that we needed. We particularly loved the bay windows looking onto the garden, which was a haven for wildlife and birdlife. Its in a very quiet location at the Blencathra Centre and has wonderful views. We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
