There is stabling available by separate negotiation by contacting the owner if you would like to bring your horses, ponies and it is also dog friendly. The popular village of Gosforth has a local Italian restaurant, public houses which all serve good food with local produce. There are two public footpaths at Windhall Retreat which are a five-minute walk into the village of Gosforth.

Great cottage only issue was the weather as you can hear the wind and rain through the roof. But really clean with a well equipped kitchen. In a good central location in the lakes and amenities were a short drive away. It did say we would get milk bacon and eggs on arrival but didn’t however there was a box with biscuits tea coffee and mini milk pots. The bed was firm bordering hard which we are not used too and a small gap in wall would mean for those where 4 people are staying may impede on privacy but as was the 2 of us and our puppy was ideal
