The cottage is located in the pretty village of Pooley Bridge, which sits on the River Eamont close to beautiful Ullswater, and there are many country pubs serving good food and a variety of drinks nearby. Catch one of the famous steamers in the village and disembark at Aira Force to see the impressive waterfall. Head into Penrith, 6 miles away, to browse in independent shops and buy fresh produce in the farmers market. Lowther Castle is less than 5 miles away; the castle and gardens are a sight to behold and there is a fabulous adventure playground. Sailing, paddleboarding and horse trekking are all available in the local area.
