About this property

Penrith 1.6 miles. Situated right on the banks of the River Eamont with the sounds of the water rushing by and a woodland backdrop, the opulent Mill End is an ideal getaway for a family or group of friends, resting in Eamont Bridge, near Penrith, Cumbria. Be welcomed into a beautifully furnished home, built by the owner, and note how care has been taken to create a tasteful property, beginning in the large family kitchen, where there are ample amenities, contemporary furniture and a large breakfast bar, making it ideal for guests to cook and dine together. The living/dining room has a second dining table, as well as tiled flooring, stylish leather sofas, an electric fire stove and patio doors opening up onto the garden, ideal for letting in the summer's breeze in the warmer months. Outside, your four-legged companion will enjoy the grass as you dine alfresco or enjoy a glass of your favourite beverage with a view across the river to the woodland countryside, a spot you will have to return to again and again. The bedrooms mirror the spacious and tasteful design of the living areas, and you will have the choice of a king-size, a double and a twin, each with a TV, plush carpets, and built-in wardrobe for your belongings, along with a large bathroom with black and white tiled flooring, where you can take a relaxing soak amongst the bubbles or a ground-floor shower room for your refreshment. Eamont Bridge is a riverside village resting beside the Eamont River, within easy reach of The Beehive Inn and several historic sites, including Mayburgh Henge, King Arthur’s Round Table and Eden Millennium Monument. A little further from the property you will find the delightful town of Penrith, where there is a great selection of eateries, pubs, independent stores to browse at your leisure and convenience stores where you can stock up on essentials. Penrith is a great little town with walks through Thacka Beck Nature Reserve and Penrith Castle has to be on your itinerary for the day! Penrith also has a golf course and easy reach to Ullswater, ideal for water sports lovers. The town is surrounded by two national parks and two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so why not head over to the Lake District and visit Windermere, where you can try out wild swimming, watersports and lake cruises or lunch in one of the quaint honey pot villages before embarking on a countryside walk through the rolling hills? More scenic views are available in North Pennines AONB or the Yorkshire Dales National Park, or for a day at the seaside, travel a little further to Solway Coast AONB. All of this and so much more with a stay at the beautiful Mills End

Being the former capital of Cumbria, the lively market town of Penrith boasts a prime location between the Lake District, the Westmoorland Dales, and the North Pennines and is well-positioned to experience everything the area has to offer. The sandstone buildings of Penrith, known for having a wide variety of speciality stores, hide an array of charming cottages, gardens and small businesses.. Penrith has a great selection of top-notch pubs, cafes, restaurants, and entertainment options as well as a museum and Millennium Trails that wind through the cobblestone alleys of the old city. Rheged, an innovative visitor centre featuring shops, cafés, exhibits, and a huge movie screen, is conveniently located close to the town. Long Meg and her daughters, the third-largest stone circle in England, Lowther Castle and Gardens, the historic city of Carlisle, and the breath-taking beauty of both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are all within a short drive.

The owners were amazing. Thank you to the owners for making us so welcome you had thought of everything. The owners met us when we got there & said don’t hesitate to ask for anything. The house is at a very high standard & loved that they had decorated the house for Christmas. They had left a very generous welcome basket. A very lovely touch. I have already booked for this year!!!

We arrived on the Monday we had that sigh of relief you have when you arrive at a strange location you’ve booked online, when you drive through the local area. Town of Penrith was on the door step and the villlage the house is located is somewhere you can walk through at night without fear. Virtually crime free. The house is located next to the river which gave a nice relaxing sound when you sleep. No need for Alexa to play relaxing sounds! The house is beautiful. We brought everything we need from tea towels to Salt and pepper but there is no need as the owners had stocked the house with all the essentials, even a welcome basket. Kitchen is a huge cooking and social area with a kitchen island and massive fridge/freezer. To our delight, we forgot to bring ice however the fridge dispenser had an ice option ( took the heat off me!). Living room comfy with electric fire place and the bedrooms where well set up with plenty of places for guests. The garden is fully sealed in for the dog to run around with no worries. We had a brilliant week at Mill end house. Top tip, try the crown pub in the village. Michael the landlord is a great character and does a mixture of English and Thai food. My only negative ( and this negative is only small) the pillows were a little bulky and hard. We would book again and bring those with us.

Everything you would need with a great location and good views of the river. Didn’t want to leave, the pictures do not do the property justice. We stay away a lot all over the country but have family in Penrith and have stayed at a few cottages but cannot praise this one high enough very thoughtful owners have thought of everything to give you a home from home. Sadly there’s only five stars would of like to give them 10.
