The lovely patio area at this Skelwith Bridge cottage is the ideal place to sit in the evening and relax with a good book and a glass of your favourite tipple, or alternatively, with a morning coffee, whilst you consider what wonderful attractions to visit that day. Explore the meandering paths that trail along the River Brathay leading to Elterwater and deeper in to the Langdale valley. Coniston is easily accessible and has many shops and places to eat as well as visitor attractions such as Brantwood, the former stately home of John Ruskin. The National Trust operates the elegant Steam Yacht Gondola on Coniston Water and this beautifully-restored steam-powered yacht once provided the wealthy Victorians with a form of luxury travel along the third largest lake in Cumbria. The popular and vibrant village of Ambleside is a short drive away and offers visitors a wide selection of shops and eateries, local galleries and the Armitt Museum, a small museum dedicated to the cultural heritage of the Lake District. This is a wonderful Skelwith Bridge cottage at any time of year.

Skelwith Bridge is located in the heart of the Lake District near to Grasmere, Ambleside and Lake Windermere. The Skelwith Bridge Hotel and Talbot Pub, dating back to the 17th century sit in the centre of the village.
