Venture into the glorious Lake District and head to the quaint town of Windermere to sample delicious food at one of the restaurants and stroll the pretty streets, before wandering up to Queen Adelaide's Hill to enjoy views over Lake Windermere. Bowness-on-Windermere is home to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and Windermere Jetty Museum, along with boat hire available so you can cruise along the waters exploring Lake Windermere's many islands and bays. Plenty of walks can be enjoyed for a range of different abilities, with Cunswick Scar, Whitbarrow, Gummer's How and Orrest Head all within easy reach of Hawthorn Gardens.

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes.
