Guests say

Brunt How is a well-loved cottage praised for its stunning views, spacious and comfortable rooms, and beautiful garden. Guests have enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, proximity to local attractions, and the property's suitability for family holidays, including those with pets. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment in a picturesque setting.

The property generally meets cleanliness expectations, with well-maintained bedrooms and bathrooms. However, some guests reported a 'wet dog' smell, dirty skirtings, and the need for deep cleaning due to pet-related dirt. The kitchen cleanliness received mixed reviews, with one guest spending time cleaning it before use.

The location is highly praised for its quietness, stunning views, and proximity to local attractions and walks. The garden's views and the ease of access to nearby towns like Ambleside and Windermere are particularly appreciated.

Guests find the property comfortable, with large rooms and comfy beds contributing to a restorative stay. Some concerns were raised about the comfort of the smaller bedroom and the main bed, as well as the need for blackout curtains in one room.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and generous living spaces. However, there are reports of maintenance issues such as a non-working shower, plumbing and electrical problems, and a need for more crockery and glassware. The garden's tiered layout is not ideal for toddlers.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

We’ve had fair weather compared with many and enjoyed both time spent inside the house and of course outdoors. We haven’t ever been to ’The Lakes’ before and was truly amazed at just how beautiful it is and this coupled with your comfortable home, made a very happy memorable stay.

Lots of adventures in the Langdale valley and many walks from the doorstep. The senior members of the party explored the Wordsworth trail with visits Allen Bank and Rydal Mount and they enjoyed seeing the confluence of th Breathy and Rothay guarded by a very confident heron. We paid our respects to Joss Naylor at St Olafs church yard at Wasdale Head. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful home.
