Guests say

Mardale is a well-received holiday cottage in Ambleside, praised for its convenient location, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the tasteful decoration, ample parking, and the added bonus of a garden. While some minor issues with water pressure and heating controls were mentioned, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The property is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with only one mention of damp in the dining area. The overall high standard of cleanliness is evident in the reviews.

The location is highly praised for being close to the town centre and ideal for excursions, with a short walk to Ambleside and convenient for walks and relaxation. The uphill walk and peaceful setting are also appreciated.

Guests find the property comfortable, noting the quality of the beds and the spaciousness of the rooms. The presence of a garden and the peaceful sound of water add to the comfort. However, some guests noted noise from the property above and issues with water pressure affecting comfort slightly.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-stocked kitchen and modern amenities. Some guests encountered minor issues with showers and heating controls, and one mentioned a lack of hand wash, but these are offset by the overall high standard of facilities.

While guests have expressed gratitude for the hospitality and mentioned a friendly welcome, there are no specific references to gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Missed having a full length mirror in the main bedroom but very impressed with the amount of storage, we’ve never had so many drawers! The location was perfect for us being within walking distance of the centre of Ambleside and we liked the uphill walk on the way back. It was also nice to have a garden to sit in with a drink before dinner.

We wanted to take the kitchen home but we couldn't get it in the car, lol. We really enjoyed our week's stay and we wouldn't think twice to stay again.

The sound of the water was lovely. Great location for walks from the door but also great just to relax. As somebody else said, take your own hand wash. That was the only thing missing. The kitchen is so well stocked with every utensil you can think of. Very modern kitchen. Nice comfortable beds. This was one of the best places that we have stayed at.
