About this property

Drummermire is a fairytale 4 bedroom rural farmhouse; pretty as a picture with its traditional whitewashed walls and stunning aspects down the Troutbeck Valley towards Windermere. Refurbished with flair to give an air of sophistication, Drummermire is quite the quintessential 17th century Lakeland farmhouse, but filled with all the modern creature comforts. Charming, dramatic oak beams, quirky alcoved walls, a marvelous wood burner fireplace and deep-silled cottage windows make this property chic, stylish and popular.

You'll also find that there’s plenty of room for group occasions and family gatherings, with a state-of-the-art kitchen, complete with Aga, a lovely dining area with glass walls and bifolding doors leading outside to the garden and elegant fireside comfort for chatting away late into the night. Drummermire sleeps upto six guests with 4 beautiful bedrooms and two bathrooms. Each bedroom has an impressive view and it’s own individual style - all presented to impress. Tucked away in its own little rural world, with a nearby country pub and just 5 minutes by car from Bowness and Ambleside, this really is a fabulous property for a memorable Lakeland holiday.

The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass. A mixture of houses, cottages and farms, the village is scattered along a narrow lane bordered by a drystone wall. Many of these buildings date back to the 17th Century with features such as mullioned windows and heavy cylindrical chimneys and the northern end boasts its own 17th century inn. Close by, the bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including the lakeside ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. The ‘Windermere Steamboat Museum’ displays a fascinating collection of boats whilst children will enjoy the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’ in Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life. Within easy reach of destinations such as Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains, Troutbeck is ideally situated for exploring all that the region has to offer.
