The quaint village of Newby Bridge at the base of Lake Windermere offers a variety of options, from eating out, heading along Lake Windermere on the steamer up to Ambleside and Bowness, hiring your own boat/kayak or taking one of the many cycling and walking routes, one walking route close to the property is the High Dam walk, merely 5 minutes away. Nearby is Hawkshead village (9 miles), Beatrix Potter s House (7 miles), Lake Coniston (12 miles) and Grizedale Forest (6 miles). Alternatively, head over the east side of the Lake to Bowness (8 miles), where there is a plethora of shops, eateries, and pubs to choose from. Just 7 miles will take you to the quiet seaside town of Grange Over Sands meaning that there is both lake and sea on your doorstep! Set in a row of a row of cottages and within close proximity of Newby Bridge, the location of the property and surrounding areas are quiet and feel comfortably secluded. On entering this railway cottage, you will be taken straight into the hub of the house, the open plan kitchen/lounge, which is a well equipped social space for the whole of your party to spend time together. In the lounge area, a corner sofa is positioned around the Smart TV, ideal for a family movie night. The kitchen is tastefully styled and modern, with an electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and island with seating. There is a utility area housing a washing machine, tumble dryer, and WC. Head on through to the snug area with its two seater sofa, armchair, foot stool and electric flame effect fire, which all surround an additional Smart TV. The snug overlooks the garden which has an abundance of birds and wildlife; there are even some pheasants that visit the garden most days. With two comfortable lounge areas, there are plenty of options for relaxing and being entertained after a long day of adventuring. Up on the first floor, find a comfortable main bedroom with a double bed and plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. From here there are views looking out onto the steam railway, which passes at the end of the garden. Along the hall is the shower room with a shower and WC and next door is a cosy bedroom with bunk beds and built in storage. To complete the sleeping accommodation, on the second floor, there is a loft room with a small double bed, plenty of built in storage and a skylight. Heading outside to the rear garden there is a small bistro set where breakfast can be enjoyed. The patio area, towards the end of the garden, offers close up views of the passing steam trains and is a sun trap. There is a secure storage area for bikes, private parking for one car and additional on street parking, surrounding the cottages (subject to availability).
