It’s also in a super location, half way between Windermere and Ambleside. It’s an ideal location for families too, just opposite Brockhole (you should definitely hire a boat (£50/hr for five people) and enjoy the vast adventure playground (free!)). It felt like home from home in minutes and we enjoyed playing the board games. We loved listening to the owls and watching the bats when it got dark (look out of the twin bedroom skylights at dusk - the bats fly in and out of the oak tree on the left). The recycling system is amazing (i.e. put it all in the bin and the waste contractor sorts it for recycling). Our only feedback, to make the property even more perfect, would be to pop a short handrail in the downstairs bedroom to help with the steps (I’m not sure I would have thought of this - my rather mature parents slept this room and said it would help!). We would love to come back, I’d go so far as to say that this is one of the loveliest holiday cottages we’ve ever stayed in!

Location fantastic but still a peaceful and quiet spot. Kitchen well equipped, beds really comfortable and social spaces really spacious with a good layout. Good supply of hangers in the wardrobes and hooks on doors. The only criticism and it’s a minor is that couple of lamps in the lounge would be lovely and make it even more cosy.

Lovely open spaces to sit outside and lots of room inside to spread out. Big table with plenty room for everyone to sit comfortably. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you could want. Bedrooms were comfortable and big - even the twin room was spacious - despite the sloping roof. Only one slightly negative comment - may be worth putting small handrail next to step in lower bedroom as this room is likely to be used by older members of the family who would appreciate this support, Would highly recommend and would love to come back.
