Cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and settle down in front of the Smart TV on the plush corner sofa while your partner rustles up a tasty meal in the lodge’s fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy this meal together as a family around the dining table before stepping outside to the private decking where you can soak up the last of the sun with a glass of wine in hand.

When the sun disappears, get some well-earned rest in either the double bedroom which boasts an en-suite shower room or the twin room, ready for another day full of adventure in Cumbria. After exploring the on-site amenities venture out of the park to the famous town of Windermere, here you can treat your loved ones to a special meal at the Brookside Inn or The Old John Peel Inn. The town also affords access to the spectacular Lake Windermere where the adventurous among you can try your hand at a variety of watersports including, kayaking and paddle boarding, you could even just take a leisurely cruise along the Lake to delight in the magnificent views.

Outdoor enthusiasts will feel at home in the Lake District National Park where they can traverse the wealth of walks and trails or explore the National Trust site of Townend and the 19th-century Wray Castle; kids will also enjoy seeing the World of Beatrix Potter. Other Lake District towns such as Kendal, famous for its mint cake, Ambleside and Grasmere with its museum dedicated to Wordsworth are all easily accessible by car. Squirrels Leap Lodge is the perfect base for unlocking the wonders of the Lake District National Park.

Troutbeck Bridge is a small village located between Windermere and Ambleside in the Lake District National Park, close to the Kirkstone Pass. This small Lakeland village is home to a thriving and very popular local pub that serves real ales and fine cuisine. Windermere and Ambleside, both bustling resort towns, are nearby and offer a variety of services and amenities, such as shops, pubs, and cafes. As well as visiting the Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park, visitors to Lake Windermere can also take a trip to nearby Bowness, where technology brings Beatrix Potter's beloved characters to life in a virtual setting. As a starting point for exploring the Lake District, Troutbeck Bridge is ideally situated for trips to nearby attractions like Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick, and the Lakeland Mountains.

    Everything you needed was provided. Plenty of room for the dog. Also a great location. All in all we were very pleased with the lodge and enjoyed our stay very much
