Tall Trees is a modern and spacious lodge at White Cross Bay, set amongst the tall pine trees in the centre of the park, and just a short walk to the clubhouse and facilities, with Lake Windermere itself some 600 yards away – an easy stroll with your camera and a cuppa! With a spacious gated deck and furniture on which to relax after a day sightseeing or hiking, this stylish is a great base for your adventures, with bright modern décor and fittings. Tall Trees sleeps four, one double and one twin room, with room for a travel cot (which can be hired) in either room.
White Cross Bay is in a fabulous location, on the shores of Lake Windermere and has shop, bar, restaurant, pool & gym on site (subject to extra cost). With views across the water and to the surrounding fells, you are literally in the heart of the Lake District. 500 yards up the main A591 is Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, with its gardens, house, café, restaurant, walks, boats, adventure playground and Tree Top Trek: there’s lots to do! You’re also just two miles from Windermere village with shops, cafes and pubs, and three miles from Bowness boat landings, where the cruisers come in.
Bowness is a cosmopolitan village with award-winning restaurants and pubs and quirky shops, a cinema and the World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Three miles in the other direction, head to Ambleside, another bustling town with shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and of course, walks in every direction. Two miles north on the A592 is the pretty village of Troutbeck, home to two traditional pubs with log fires: The Queens Head and the Mortal man; Holehird Gardens, and the National Trust’s Townend House. Further on you climb up to the magnificent Kirkstone Pass, then drop down to Brotherswater & Ullswater. The Lake District is all about making special memories with your loved ones.
