About this property

This delightful property, in the perfect location to reconnect with nature, is ideal for friends or families looking for an active holiday. Located near the historic village of Broughton-in-Furness (4 miles) in the southwestern corner of the Lake District, you can explore the pretty, cobbled square complete with a splendid horse chestnut tree, enclosed by shops, pubs, and homes, many of them from the Georgian era. The village provides an ideal base for walking, hiking or climbing, with ample opportunity to explore the rugged beauty of the Duddon Valley.

This charming house is full of character with exposed wooden beams and a cosy wood burner, lending a countryside home-away-from-home feel. Walk up the steps into the property, and you will feel your cares slip away. The lounge/diner is the house's hub; enjoy the lounge's amazing views courtesy of the floor-to-ceiling windows. There are two leather sofas and armchairs to unwind while watching the Smart TV. To the rear of the room is a dining area, and the contemporary kitchen has everything you need to prepare family favourites. Along the hallway are a bathroom and four bedrooms - two double and two super-king-size, one with an en-suite shower room. A conservatory with a sofa and lovely views offers a quiet space to relax. Outside, get comfortable on the outdoor furniture, fire up the BBQ and enjoy dining outdoors surrounded by perfect scenery.

The Furness Railway runs from nearby Foxfield (6 miles) travelling the west coast of Cumbria and makes for an ideal day out for the family. The kids will also love a day spent at Wild Cat Island on Ulverston (16 miles), where you can hire a boat or canoe to the island. Experienced hikers can tackle Coniston Old Man (15 miles) or for walks and mountain biking routes for all ages and abilities; Grizedale Forest (20 miles) is a must.
