For walkers or climbers, the Old Man of Coniston and Dow Crag are in view and accessible from the house or for those who prefer a flatter walk, the old railway line path takes you from Torver all the way to Coniston. For those seeking a more leisurely experience on the lake, numerous boat excursions are available, including "The Gondola" an exquisitely restored Victorian steamer or Coniston Launch which actually stops at Torver Jetty.
