About this property

A charming second floor cottage, a short walk from the centre of the bustling Cumbrian market town of Kendal. Located in Yard 23, this quaint cottage apartment provides spacious accommodation with a large dining/kitchen area with beams, together with a sitting room with original stone features. This Kendal apartment has three bedrooms and a lovely bathroom which is perfect for relaxing in at the end of the day. Kendal is a thriving market town with many fine restaurants and cafes located down "Yards" - small narrow alleyways which branch off from the main streets. A traditional market is held twice a week in the square and a farmers' market is held on the last Friday of each month, a perfect opportunity to sample some of the delights produced in the area.

The Brewery Arts Centre regularly hosts specialist exhibitions including the Mountain Film Festival in November and Mintfest, Kendal's International Festival of Street Art, which runs at the end of August each year. With the Lake District on your doorstep, this Kendal cottage offers a superb base to explore the spectacular mountains and lakes returning to enjoy the fabulous amenities in this "auld grey town".

Kendal is set on the banks of the River Kent offering old cobbled lanes and byways, ruins of a 12th Century castle, The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, shops and pubs. Close by is Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall, plus there are walking routes in the area.

The parking space is essential, however it isn't an easy space to get into, especially during the working day when there seemed to be vans parked everywhere. The accommodation is clean and well equipped, albeit somewhat dated, and we didnt find it noisy, apart from police sirens. The two biggest beds, however, are rock hard, with very flat pillows, and not at all comfortable. There was no information regarding rubbish and recycling disposal and we had no idea where the commercial waste wheelie bin was. We ended up asking one of the business owners if he knew where it was.

    Thank you !

There is no outside space. The only thing lacking is a socket close to a mirror for hair-drying purposes.
