The Low House sits in a stunning location in the Lake District. Crosthwaite is easily accessible from the M6 and renowned and for an award-winning Lake District country pub, The Punchbowl, in Crosthwaite village, as well as a delightful old church to explore. There are many walks from the door and a ten minute drive takes you to bustling Bowness village where you'll find an array of shops, bars, restaurants and of course the famous Lake Windermere.
The property has many original features, exposed beams, vaulted ceiling and a feature stone fireplace. Outside is a walled garden with lawn, patio with furniture. A great entertaining space on warm summer evenings. There is ample parking for six cars.
Inside is a large kitchen with dining area. The kitchen has a high vaulted ceiling, an island and provides you with everything to prepare meals. This is a great social space. The dining area allows you to all relax and enjoy breakfast together.
The sitting room has comfortable furniture which is arranged around the stone fireplace with wood burning stove and exposed beams. The dining area is great to enjoy that special dinner with family or friends or indeed play board games with the children.
From the sitting room you will find the sun room with fabulous views looking across the fields and a television with SKY TV, the children will love this room.
There is also a snug room with TV and woodburner burner, a great break out space for that quiet moment. Also on this floor is a WC and utility room with room to hang your walking gear up after a walk, along with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
On the first floor choose from 5 bedrooms, a double bedroom en-suite shower room, master super-king size bedroom with en-suite shower room, two twin bedrooms, and finally a double bedroom. These are complimented by the house bathroom with a shower over bath and heated towel rail.
On the second floor is the final bedroom with a king size bed, seating area with TV and an en-suite bathroom with twin basins. The bath is situated for you to admire the views. Bath House toiletries and soaps are provided in all bathrooms for your use.
A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. With other attractions such as Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the fascinating Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere and the wider National Park within easy reach, Kendal provides a superb base for a relaxing break.

So comfortable and lots of spaces for a big family to spread out. And the garden! We played croquet, rounders, flew our kites,and more It was a special place ..we loved our week here The cleanliness was spot on so a big well done to the cleaner. Loved the new cooker too!

Slept 12 but we were 7 and very comfortable. Only significant criticism is some of the kitchen pans and tins were well past their bin by date. Would be very happy to return and will recommend to others
