Guests say

Church View is a well-received cottage in Ambleside, praised for its prime location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the convenient parking, proximity to local amenities, and the cosy, well-equipped space. While some minor suggestions for improvement are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-presented, with multiple reviews highlighting its spotlessness. Only one review mentioned a musty smell and questioned the cleaning, but this seems an outlier compared to the overall feedback.

The location is highly praised for being central, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The convenience of walking to various sites and the benefit of a parking space are frequently mentioned, although one review noted the busy road.

Many guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with a particularly comfy bed noted. However, a few reviews suggest improvements such as better lighting for reading and a more comfortable sofa, slightly impacting the score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and efficient heating. Some guests suggested upgrades like a walk-in shower and a Freeview box for the TV. The presence of a dishwasher and washing machine is appreciated.

While some guests mention welcome gifts and appreciated the gesture, there is not enough consistent detail across the reviews to accurately score thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

It has a private parking bay which is extremely useful. The accommodation is very clean and, altough compact has everything one needs. It has a good shower however, the only negative I can say is that the mattress tends to slope on both sides and one feels as if they are falling out of bed; which unfortunately resulted in a few sleepless nights. All in all, a great cottage and ideally situated to enjoy the outdoors.

Only comment would be an outside light on the back sliding door for when packing up (especially in the winter months when your trying to pack up the car to leave once the clocks change and it’s dark by 4.30pm)

It is on a fairly busy road but you really don't notice any noise when inside. It is very convenient for the town which has excellent pubs and restaurants etc. The adjacent parking is a big advantage. We would certainly recommend this cottage and we would very much like to return ourselves one day.
