Itâs a lovely wee cottage - well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is peaceful, with great walks around the lake and Joeyâs Café nearby for a nice treat. The ferry wasnât running at this time of year, so it was a bit of a drive to reach the larger villages, but that also meant it was beautifully quietâperfect for unwinding. I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break in the Lakes!

A great location to catch the ferry over to Bowness either by car or by foot. A couple of pubs within walking distance, The cuckooâs brow and The Tower Bank Arms, we ate a couple of times at The Tower Bank Arms and it was truly fabulous, the staff are very welcoming and thereâs a great atmosphere, we didnât eat at The Cuckooâs Brow but it was friendly and the food looked good. The cottage has some lovely walks directly from the door so great that you donât always have to use the car. This was our second visit and we look forward to returning again in the future.

Me and my partner went for a birthday getaway and we could not have found a better place to stay. The ferry across to Bowness is frequent and super easy, though we also travelled around the lakes without using the ferry. The area is quiet and a perfect place for a range of hikes. It took us just about an hour to drive to Keswick, and under 30 minutes to Ambleside, so itâs a great location for any activities you wish. Itâs not super close to a pub or shops, but that was fine by us as we would plan meals in advance. The only issues we had was there being a limited amount of bin liners and dishwasher tablets, and the batteries for the TV remote were starting to die. Itâs also worth noting that the double bed is two single beds pushed together which can be uncomfortable if you are a couple that sleep closely together. Overall, a wonderful place to stop - will definitely be stopping again!
