About this property

Perched high above Lake Windermere, this luxury lodge sleeps 21 guests across eight ensuite bedrooms with space for everyone to spread out. The chef-standard kitchen and farmhouse dining table bring groups together, while the cinema room, games areas, and multiple lounges offer entertainment options. Two hot tubs capture sunrise and sunset mountain views, complemented by a twelve-person barrel sauna and outdoor dining area with pizza oven. Troutbeck village lies within walking distance, fell paths start from the doorstep, and Windermere's attractions are minutes away. Ideal for family celebrations, corporate retreats, or friends seeking luxury in spectacular surroundings.

Kirkstone Lodge commands one of the most spectacular positions in the entire Lake District, perched high on the mountainside with sweeping views across Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells. This magnificent retreat sleeps 21 guests across eight sumptuous ensuite bedrooms, each designed with comfort and luxury in mind. The village of Troutbeck lies within easy reach, where the Mortal Man pub serves excellent food with views to match, while the Queen's Head at Troutbeck offers traditional Lakeland hospitality. The open-plan living spaces flow seamlessly together, showcasing handpicked furnishings and a chef-standard kitchen that becomes the natural heart of any gathering. Whether you're planning a multi-generational family celebration, a corporate escape, or bringing together old friends for a milestone birthday, the lodge offers space for everyone to come together or find quiet corners for conversation.

Windermere town sits just minutes down the winding mountain road, bustling with independent shops, galleries, and restaurants including the renowned Hole in t' Wall for hearty local fare. Ambleside beckons with its famous Wednesday market, while Bowness-on-Windermere offers steamboat cruises and The World of Beatrix Potter - a hit with visitors of all ages. Stock Bridge, the narrow stretch linking Windermere's two lakes, provides stunning photo opportunities and connects to Grasmere, home to the Wordsworth Museum and some of the finest gingerbread you'll ever taste.

The lodge sits at the crossroads of some of England's most celebrated walking country. Step straight onto fell paths leading to Wansfell Pike for moderate walkers, or tackle the challenging route to Ill Bell and Yoke for the more adventurous. You can pick up the Dales Way for easy riverside rambles, or tackle something more ambitious like the Old Man of Coniston if your group fancies a proper challenge. Helvellyn's ridges draw the serious hikers among you. Down on the lake, there's paddleboarding and kayaking gear to hire from Bowness if water sports appeal.

Drive through Langdale for the dramatic scenery and you'll find the Dungeon Ghyll Force waterfall - worth the detour. Hawkshead and Near Sawrey make for pleasant village exploration, or catch the vintage steam railway from Haverthwaite to Lakeside for something different. Culture seekers shouldn't miss Blackwell Arts and Crafts House with its remarkable architecture, while Levens Hall's topiary gardens are genuinely impressive. The lodge provides an exceptional base for creating memories that groups will treasure long after returning home.
