There were a few things that could have made it better but we didn’t report them during our stay. As mentioned multiple times in the visitors book the toilet seats are loose and slide and the downstairs bedrooms were quite dusty. The TV reception was very poor and non existent at times. Not good when you are trying to watch a World Cup qualifier game. We couldn’t get the spa bath to work. Otherwise the lounge and kitchen were both fabulous, although a few throws would have added to the comfort factor. The location was also great for walks and it was a five minute walk to Ambleside shops.

Very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for a great holiday. Cottage well placed for lots of walks and a short walk into Ambleside . Garden lovely with fabulous views and a nice decked area to eat outside. We would definately recommend staying here and would love to come back.

We are frequent visitors to The Lakes and location is important to us. The cottage is ideally placed for a short, easy stroll into Ambleside but also there’s a bus stop a minute from the cottage with frequent services to Grasmere, Windermere and Keswick. From the cottage door there are some lovely walks (and jogging routes) and the scenery is stunning. Ample parking for 3 cars with the cottage - a great bonus. Nice patio and garden area to use - we sat out a lot to make the most of the lovely weather we were lucky to have! The cottage itself is very spacious. The kitchen was superb - very well equipped and the water / ice dispenser with the fridge freezer was very welcomed! Ample cupboard space and utensils for everything! The upstairs main sitting area is lovely, great views and a great reading chair overlooking the garden; good selection of games and puzzles for the family too if needed. There are 4 bedrooms in all, 2 larger rooms with en-suites, a small double and an additional single room. Bedrooms are clean and have good hanging space and drawers - the only slight negative is the damp smell and feel in the downstairs bedrooms. There were Febreze style plug in room deodorisers dotted about however they were all empty and we could only find one refill. The small double room would benefit from a new mattress in my opinion - very very springy and soft (which I appreciate some people like) but no real support so a lot of roll-to into the middle. Overall, the cottage is great and we had a lovely week’s stay. Please note, hand soap is not provided in any of the bathrooms / toilet / kitchen (we had taken our own) and there are no additional toilet rolls or kitchen rolls (again we had taken our own).
