Guests say

Sethera offers stunning views and a prime location in Ambleside, with guests praising its proximity to local attractions and natural beauty. The property's grounds are appreciated, and the interior is noted for its comfort and recent redecoration. While some guests encountered maintenance issues, the responsive owner and the property's charm seem to provide a positive overall experience.

Reviews indicate a generally clean environment, though some guests noted dust and cleanliness oversights. Issues with dead flies and a dirty sink were mentioned, suggesting room for improvement in cleaning standards.

The property's location is highly praised for its convenience to Ambleside, restaurants, and hiking trails, as well as for its tranquil views, making it a top feature of Sethera.

Guests find the bedrooms comfortable and the living spaces cosy, though some concerns were raised about the size of the third bedroom and the condition of the sofa and mattresses.

Facilities are generally adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and good amenities. However, maintenance issues like broken toilet seats, a problematic key box, and a challenging entrance detract from the overall experience.

There is insufficient information regarding thoughtful touches such as gifts or special amenities provided by the host, so a score cannot be given in this category.

We had four adults and two children and the property offers ample space in bedrooms and living areas. Bedrooms were comfortable, bathrooms were good (shower is great!), the dining area next to the kitchen was perfect for family meals. The grounds were also a real bonus - space for the kids to have a play but also offering a calm space for a stroll and views toward Ambleside. The kitchen was absolutely fine although a challenge for our group with only a small fridge with a freezer drawer. Having read previous reviews we were prepared for some cleaning when we arrived, and this was needed. The kitchen in particular was not clean but a 20-minute blitz sorted it. There were bits in the bedrooms that clearly hadn't been touched with a duster or vacuum for many a week, so it would be great if this could be better for a future visit. We had no issues with accessing the property. There is plenty of parking for guests and visitors (visitor spaces are not marked but this didn't cause any problems once we'd decided where to park). Overall a really good Lakes property with a great location - would definitely return in future.

Beautiful grounds.Shame that the flat is rather 'tired' and not very clean. Very surprised there were no extra toilet rolls.

On arrival we were met by a dozen or so wasps on the lounge area carpet, curtains and windows. We removed them all, but next day we had several more back in the same area, plus in the small hall between the third bedroom and the shower room. We stayed for four nights and had a couple of new wasps every day. We tried blocking up all the holes around cable outlets etc, but they still managed to get in. I understand its difficult to manage wild insects, but the previous tenants had also experienced a problem with the wasps and had mentioned them in the guest book, so we were very disappointed that they hadn’t been dealt with before we arrived. It spoiled what could have been a very relaxing stay. The beds and sofas were excellent and the view is lovely.
