The Lookout in Ambleside offers stunning views and a well-appointed, comfortable stay. Guests appreciate the modern bathrooms, sociable living spaces, and the property's cleanliness. The location is ideal for exploring the Lake District, with easy access to local attractions. Some guests noted challenges with maintenance and the absence of a welcome pack, but these are offset by the property's charm and the enjoyment of previous stays.
The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with most guests finding it spotless. However, a few mentioned marks on carpets and dining chairs, which slightly impacts the score.
The location is highly praised for its spectacular views and proximity to local amenities and walking routes. The steep hill access is noted, but it does not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback.
Guests find the apartment comfortable and well-furnished, though some issues with noise from the boiler and the need for seasonal bedding adjustments have been mentioned.
Facilities are generally good, with modern bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. However, maintenance issues with the dishwasher, boiler noise, and suggestions for improvements indicate room for enhancement.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host. As such, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Walk to the window and feast your eyes on the stunning landscape and on the magnificent view of the Fairfield Horseshoe. After your day’s journey, kick off your shoes and enjoy your favourite drink on the comfortable sitting room suite or make a tasty snack or meal in the lovely kitchen, where you are certain to admire the quality cream units and granite work sur-faces.
At the end of your busy day, enjoy the tranquillity and comfort of your pretty bedrooms. One has a king-size bed with en-suite bathroom. The other has twin beds with an en-suite shower room. There is a cloakroom with wash basin and WC off the hallway.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

The apartment is simply not being kept up to with: 1. Mould all over the walls in the hall toilet 2. Plaster dropping off the walls (with a hole as well) in Lounge and Bedroom 3. Stained Carpets 4. TV and DVD players now dated The apartment needs a complete overhaul to justify the prices that are now being charged

The location is beautiful, a quiet oasis it what has become a very busy Ambleside. The views are exceptional being up on the top floor and well worth the climb upstairs. Our stay was impacted by the scaffolding and ongoing building maintenance work but no doubt this will be completed in time for our next stay!
