The Miller in Ambleside is a well-regarded property, praised for its comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and beautiful location by Stock Ghyll. Guests appreciate the cosy, warm atmosphere and the convenience for local amenities and walks. Some concerns were raised about cleanliness and maintenance, but the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
Guests have reported issues with cleanliness, such as cobwebs, crumbs, and dirty windows. However, the property is generally found to be comfortable, suggesting that while there is room for improvement, the overall cleanliness is satisfactory.
The property's location is highly praised for its proximity to Ambleside and scenic surroundings. Some guests find the steepness challenging and the parking tight, but the peaceful setting and convenience for walks and shopping are appreciated.
The comfort of The Miller is frequently commended, with special mentions of the comfy beds and spaciousness. Some guests suggest improvements in the living room furniture, but overall, the property provides a comfortable stay.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and good bathrooms. However, there are reports of maintenance issues like broken light fixtures and pans not working on the induction hob. The property is equipped but would benefit from attention to these details.
While guests have not mentioned any gifts, they do suggest that additional touches like a welcome pack or clearer instructions would enhance their stay. As there is no direct reference to thoughtfulness through gifts, a score cannot be provided.

Nicely located by Stock Ghyll Force to both see and hear the water rushing by. The apartment was not easy to find for the first time on a dark rainy evening. The allocated parking bay was difficult to access in a large car.

Great bathrooms and kitchen. Comfy beds. Great views. Let down by : living room. Old furniture, poor/broken lighting, small telly with all wires showing, Heavily stained carpet. Balcony scruffy and outside chairs uncomfortable and rickety. It would take very little updating to make this property really good.

Plenty of bathrooms to go round. Nice fresh bedding. The sound of the nearby stream was relaxing. A welcome pack such as milk in the fridge would be nice. Some instructions for the dishwasher would be useful. Couple of things to point out, the location is very steep. The allocated parking space was VERY difficult to get in to. It is definitely not a leisurely walk to the centre of town, the return journey is particularly strenuous.
