Guests are charmed by the property's stunning views of Grasmere lake, its spaciousness, and prime location for walking routes. The well-equipped kitchen and cosy atmosphere are appreciated, though some guests noted issues with heating and shower pressure. The grounds are praised for their beauty and wildlife, including red squirrels and birds.
The property is consistently described as clean and tidy, with guests noting its immaculate condition. There are minor mentions of cobwebs, but these do not detract significantly from the overall perception of cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its spectacular views, tranquillity, and proximity to Grasmere village and walking routes. It's considered ideal for exploring the Lake District, contributing to a high score.
The property is generally found to be comfortable, with a warm and cosy atmosphere. However, some guests mentioned issues with bed comfort, noise from other apartments, and inadequate heating during the day, slightly lowering the score.
Facilities are well-regarded, particularly the well-equipped kitchen. However, recurring comments about weak shower pressure, heating issues, and the need for minor repairs suggest room for improvement in maintenance.
While many reviews express satisfaction with the property's amenities, there is insufficient information regarding specific thoughtful gestures or gifts provided by the hosts, thus a score cannot be given.
Grasmere 1 mile. This ground floor apartment is one of nine properties set in a former gentlemen's residence, close to Grasmere in Cumbria. Nestled on the banks of Rydal Fell, with beautiful shared grounds overlooking Grasmere Lake, this lovely apartment is the perfect place to enjoy the mesmerising landscapes of the Lake District and has been featured on the Female First website. It is ideal for families and friends wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for peace and tranquillity. Lovingly presented to provide superb accommodation, this delightful apartment has three bedrooms, one of which is a king-size double, together with a family bathroom. There is also a spacious kitchen with a dining area, and a sitting room with an electric fire and a large sash window affording views across to Grasmere Lake. Outside, there is lots of space to enjoy this stunning location and at the front of the apartment is a sunny terrace with furniture, an ideal spot to listen to the birds sing and possibly catch a glimpse of the resident wildlife, including red squirrels, badgers and deer. Grasmere village is just a 10-minute walk away where there are a host of restaurants, galleries and shops, including the Grasmere Gingerbread shop. During certain times of the year, the village is also swathed in beautiful bluebells. For those wishing to escape out onto the fells, this charming apartment is ideally placed, with footpaths and bridleways just a stones throw from the door, including the Coffin Trail around Rydal Water. Being surrounded by such inspiring scenery, it is hard to imagine why you would need to travel anywhere else, but if you do, Ambleside and Keswick are perfect destinations just a few miles away. There is a saying that you may leave the Lake District, but the Lake District will never leave you, and this must be true of this comfy apartment in this magnificent location!
Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere. The village is probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found", plus any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family have been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century.

A perfect base/location. Great view of the lake from our window and the patio.

Issues with the property do not get resolved from year to year. Sash cords broken in the twin rooms, making it next to impossible to open the windows. A shower screen seal that was broken in 2023 is still not repaired, resulting in the bathroom floor getting soaked each time you shower. Some parts of the property have not been properly cleaned for a long time. Definitely not a place to stay if you don't like spiders or cobwebs. It is a shame that for a high weekly rental fee the owners do not seem to want to invest in even the most basic of running repairs.

. Walks from the door didn't need to use the car at all.. 5 star
