Little Brook Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage which is bursting with character; ideal for holidaymakers who want a charming property with stunning scenery right on the doorstep and a stone's throw from some great local pubs.
Its stone-built nature gives this cottage the traditional Lakeland feel but it has been tastefully furnished throughout and is equipped to the highest standard. It is the ideal blend of character and modern amenities. The well-equipped kitchen with dining area is the perfect place for knocking up something tasty before retreating to the comfortable lounge and enjoying a relaxing evening in front of the TV or maybe belting out some classics with the music centre on offer. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, one double and one twin, and there's a shower room and a ground floor wet room.
There is also a small courtyard outside the cottage allowing the opportunity to take a seat in the fresh air.
Bowness on Windermere is one of the most popular spots in the Lake District and with good reason. Since Victorian times it has drawn visitors with its mix of beauty and bustling nature. Windermere provides watersport options, cruises on the lake and even the chance to row yourselves around. Open-top bus trips as well as walking and climbing spots allow the chance to explore the surrounding area.

Bowness and Windermere has enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and hire are available in Bowness. The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake. ! One positive is location, itâs fantastic, right in the centre of town. There are many negativesâ¦everything is very worn and a bit grubby, the cottage is very tired and outdated, the main shower is awful, the beds are uncomfortable and the main bedroom needs a curtain. Now, none of that really bothered us too much, the main issue was the raw sewerage coming up through the downstairs toilet drain, flooding the downstairs toilet and running into the kitchen. The drains in the garden were overflowing with sewerage, itâs one of the most disturbing things Iâve ever seen. There was no way I was going to continue to stay somewhere that was flooded with untreated human faeces so we left 2 days early. Whatâs even more unbelievable is that Lakelovers told us we are not entitled to a refund for the 2 days we did not stay on at the cottage because we left early not giving them time to rectify the issue. This issue has happened before as you can see from previous reviews. How on earth can you fix the problem and ensure it doesnât happen again? How can you ensure the property was fully decontaminated and safe to live in. And the artificial grass in the garden that was covered in faeces too, surely that needs to be ripped up and thoroughly cleaned or even replaced??!! I cannot believe to company are advising anyone to stay in such squalor conditions, this is a clear Health and safety issue but no one seems to care. Iâm still waiting on head office contact details to discuss the matter further. Awful customer service, I will never book through the company again.

On arrival the upstairs bathroom door was locked (unable to use the slotted safety screw to open it). However maintenance came within a reasonable time to fix it.

!! Ground floor toilet was leaking and toilet waste was flooding the shower area and back garden completely; due to this bad smell in the entire kitchen I have requested the Sykes office in Windermere as well as Customer Service team over phone to move to a different place but they refused to do so.
