High View Lodge in Windermere is praised for its stunning, well-equipped interiors, peaceful and private location, and comfortable furnishings. Guests enjoyed the proximity to local amenities and attractions, with many looking forward to returning. Some concerns were raised about WiFi reliability and housekeeping details, but these did not overshadow the overall positive experiences.
The lodge received compliments for being spotless on arrival in several reviews. However, there were some remarks about superficial cleaning and housekeeping issues, such as sticky kitchen handles and a dirty barbecue, which suggest room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for being quiet, private, and close to local amenities and attractions. It's well-located within the park and offers a secluded spot that guests appreciated.
Many guests found the lodge comfortable, with nice beds and a spacious layout. There were some negative comments about the quality of mattresses and pillows, indicating that while comfort is generally high, there is potential for enhancement.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good on-site amenities. However, issues with WiFi, a non-functioning dishwasher, and a lack of sharp knives for cooking were noted, affecting the overall score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored, and guests should not expect gifts during their stay.

Itâs only slightly let down by limited cooking utensils and pan selection, such as a lot of frying pans and a wok, but no standard & large pans. Would happily to rebook this lodge in the future.

Unfortunately no views of the lake some of the pictures portray due to additional lodges and trees in the way. However this lodge is not on ground floor so does give some sense of privacy and better views. The kitchen was well equipped and heating was available to use should you need it. Unfortunately the kitchen handles were sticky and therefore needed a wipe down but overall very clean place. You get access to one car parking space right outside your lodge but take note you do have 20 steps to climb (as stated in the description as advertised) The bathrooms unfortunately had a horrible smell coming from the drains, was quite unbearable and we had no way of directly contacting management to get this fixed immediately. The mattresses & pillows in the bedroom are non existent, you just sink into it. The mattresses are well overdue a replacement. We did not sleep well at all. There is little to no wifi so i wouldnt come with the expectation of having access to the wifi. EE network worked quite well O2 was hit and miss. You only get one toilet roll for the stay per bathroom so make sure you bring your own or alternatively you can buy locally. Its a shame there were no recycling facilities for your rubbish, this should be a must for all lodges/accommodation in this day and age. Overall we had a pleasant stay its just unfortunate the bathroom and bedroom mattresses let us down.
