Visit the Ambleside Roman Fort, or head out into the stunning scenery right on your doorstep and take a walk through one of the many sites, including Orrest Head Viewpoint. Visit many of the other lakes, including Coniston Water, or hike or mountain bike the trails through The Old Man of Coniston, Scafell Pike, Red Screes, and birdwatching at The RSPB at Haweswater. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

The property was ideal for our three generation, family visit. Ample living space, well equipped kitchen and four generous sized bedrooms, all en-suite . The 5 year old twins loved the second floor bedroom with connecting TV room, it gave us all an extra half hour in bed in a morning! Excellent location with plenty of parking spaces and bus stop literally outside. Would definitely recommend the property and rebook if we all visit again.

Weâve been coming to The Lakes for years and this has been the best property so far, great location between Bowness & Windermere, beautiful decor, all mod cons. Beds were super comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay. The owner went above and beyond when we had a very minor issue. We would definitely book here again. Thank you
