Guests say

The Blithe Hare is a quaint cottage appreciated for its good central heating, comfortable beds, and modern bathroom. Its location in Windermere is well-regarded, and guests have enjoyed the property's charm and the local area. While some guests have recommended the cottage and praised its cleanliness, others have suggested improvements in seating arrangements and kitchen storage.

Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage very clean, while others noted issues with kitchen grease and a smell from the drains. The bathroom and bedrooms were generally described as clean, but the presence of chipped crockery and cobwebs suggests room for improvement.

The cottage's location in Windermere is generally praised for its proximity to local attractions. However, some guests noted challenges with parking and accessibility, particularly for those with mobility issues or when carrying luggage. The distance from parking to the cottage and the nearby busy road were minor concerns.

Guests have found the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, particularly praising the upstairs area. However, the comfort of the living room seating and the firmness of the main bed received mixed reviews. The presence of a hard chair as the third seating option in the lounge was a common discomfort.

Facilities are adequate with a well-functioning central heating system, smart TV, and Wi-Fi. However, guests have reported maintenance issues such as a problematic kitchen door, electrical problems, and a lack of space for food storage due to overstocked cupboards. The need for decluttering and updating some kitchenware was also mentioned.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as it relates to gifts or special touches provided by the host. While some guests mentioned the lack of a welcome pack, there were no consistent references to gifts or additional thoughtful gestures that could be evaluated.

I appreciated the washing up liquid/sponge set provided, the huge fluffy white towels were a treat too. We found the beds comfortable after a busy day out, the sofa was soft but not uncomfortable. The eclectic mix of crockery was a little strange and there were no bowls for cereal etc which would have been useful but overall a great place to stay, wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Only a small dog would suit. The upstairs is lovely and quaint, nice details. Very quiet slept well. The wooden strip to the single bed door is loose and uncomfortable to step on. The kitchen table is too big and if smaller could access the oven better. Well appointed had everything needed. The lounge needs an extra comfy chair so 3 adult’s can sit. A little bit more attention to some cleaning needed. Very good spot with frequent buses just on the road and we found adequate parking on road as well after dropping bags off. Overall good value for money. Thank you.

Having said that we didn't struggle parking on the road outside the leisure centre It said free entry to the leisure facility but we couldn't work out how so didn't end up using it and it wasn't clear which bin was ours so used a neighbour's. The house is set up lovely. Nice beds great use of the space and perfect for us and our daughter. All in all a lovely stay and would recommend x
