This sizeable property is ideally positioned with private parking for 2 large or 3 mediim sized cars allowing you to leave your car and explore the local attractions and amenities on foot. If you wish to go further afield try an open top bus trip or take a scenic boat trip to Waterhead, Ambleside or Lakeside. For the more energetic a walk up to ’Orrest Head’ offers spectacular views over Lake Windermere. Bowness has a lively café culture, a wide selection of restaurants, bars, independent small shops and an Art Deco cinema.
A large homely five bedroom en-suite property, in the centre of Bowness with private parking for two cars. Originating as a police station and jail in 1843 and extended in 1858 to include the courthouse. This sizeable property is warmly decorated throughout with a real homely feel and plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. The accommodation consists of a well-equipped family kitchen/breakfast room with a breakfast table and chairs and a traditional pulley maid for drying clothes should you need to. The comfy living room has plenty of seating for everyone including a Smart TV and living flame effect fire and a cosy reading snug area. The dining room has table and chairs to accommodate up to ten people, a Smart TV and a choice of games, and off this room is a small shower room. Outside to the front of the property is a small seating area with a picnic table to enjoy relaxing outside on warm sunny days.

Loved the old court house. Lovely cosy feeling when you walked in. lots of room for 10 people. The location was both its best feature and also its worst. When I say worst I am nit picking. However it was on the main road and there was some disturbance from drunken idiots arguing but the proximity to Bowness amenities couldn’t have been better. Surrounded by restaurants, there is a pub less than 30 yards away. We were a group from 4 different families and we all said we would book again.
