Set in woodlands reached by a private drive Secret Garden lives up to its name. The peace and quiet is disturbed only by a variety of wildlife including deer, squirrels, nuthatches and woodpeckers visiting the large garden. The centres of Bowness and Windermere are within easy reach and there are delightful walks direct from the doorstep to some of the best viewpoints in the area from which to enjoy the beauty of the fells and Lake Windermere. Property sleeps 2 adults and up to 3 children.
The water is from a spring, well or borehole, and not a mains supply.

'Secret Garden' is in a lovely location, very green and peaceful. There is enough space for 2 adults, however, it may be small for 4 people as the dining table has to be extended then + the fact that the second bedroom has a bunkbed. What was seriously disappointing was the cleanliness as, upon arrival as, for example, the kitchen was still splattered with pastasauce and the bin in the bathroom had not been emptied. Having to clean out other people's used sanitary towels is not recommendable.....

What a beautiful location . Off a quiet lane surrounded by woodland with the sound of birds and deer at the end of the garden. Windermere and Bownes are a 10minute drive or you can walk, we did both. A perfect location for our short break.

lovely place to stay for Kendal Mountain Festival! great peaceful location only a 20 minute drive to the festival and easy to get to Windermere for public transport. Clean, warm and everything we needed. The host was super helpful and kind when we needed help with a few appliances too. Would recommend!
