Guests are enchanted by Waterbird Lodge's stunning views of Lake Windermere and its prime location, ideal for relaxation and local walks. The spacious lodge, with its large decking area, provides a comfortable and homely atmosphere. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly praised, with many guests planning return visits.
Most guests found the lodge to be clean and well-maintained, though there were a few instances where cleanliness did not meet expectations, including reports of dirty kitchen areas and bathrooms upon arrival. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than the norm.
The lodge's location is consistently lauded for its tranquillity and picturesque views over Lake Windermere. Its central position between Ambleside and Bowness is appreciated for convenience and the natural beauty of the surroundings.
Guests describe the lodge as homely, spacious, and comfortable, with a large decking area that adds to the enjoyment. However, some guests mentioned that the beds were hard and the furniture could be updated for enhanced comfort.
The lodge is well-equipped and praised for its amenities, but several reviews mention the need for maintenance and updates in areas such as the kitchen and decking. Some guests also reported issues with appliances and furnishings that require attention.
While a mini hamper was mentioned in one review as a nice touch upon arrival, there is insufficient information to determine if such gestures are a consistent practice. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gifts will be provided to future guests.

New deck furniture with padded cushions available which is fab and comfy. Called maintenance as electric chair not working, was fixed that day but broke again the following day, didnt call them out again as became insignificant to be honest. Left a note to say check that and main oven at end of holiday as couldnt work it unless on high, We had a fantastic sleep in the double bedroom, but matresses in the the main suite and bunk beds need replacing very soft and springy but apart from that the lodge was great. Booked 7 nights this time and felt like a real holiday and a great break. ,
