Guests can enjoy a swim in the indoor heated swimming pool (by arrangement), table tennis and snooker room. Within easy reach of the magnificent North Norfolk coastline for wealth of sandy beaches, nature and rspb reserves. The famous Norfolk Broads are within 40 minutes drive, with riverside restaurants, cafes, shops, daily boat hire and river trips available to explore the expanse of waterways abundant with bird and wildlife, with many picnic opportunities along waterside. Market town of East Dereham, 2½ miles, has weekly street market, shops, restaurants, cinema, swimming pool and golf course. Gressenhall Rural Life Museum and Union Farm, 3 miles, offers an interesting day out. Thetford Forrest Park with miles of walking and cycle trails to explore and ’Go-Ape’ adventure playground and assault course, 20 miles. Many places of interest and historical houses and sites surround the area, Houghton and Holkham Hall, the Royal Sandringham Estate and museum, Walsingham Shrine and Abbey ruins and Castle Acre and Priory ruins. Traditional seaside resort of Hunstanton, Wells Next The Sea, Sheringham and Cromer offer an array of attractions for all ages. Scarning Dale Cottages - The swimming pool is available all day but is only free for 1 hour to guests at the property. Swimming hats must be worn in the pool. Dogs only, must be kept on a lead outside the cottage gardens. There is a pond in the grounds/garden.
Towels are available to hire for overseas visitors at £4 per person per week. There is a £50 security deposit payable on arrival and refunded within 2 weeks of your departure. Nearest tennis court is 0.25 miles away. Fireworks are NOT allowed at anytime including New Year.

I'll sum this review up with 1 word - average.The positives are that the grounds are fantastic for walking dogs, lots of different paths to take so they're never bored. Then there's the pool, for this money where else can you have an hour in the pool by yourself every day?But now the negatives and there are only a couple. Everything is just tired, from the decor of the cottage to the changing rooms in the pool, things just need bringing in to this century. Finally, the sofa and the chair in the cottage are seriously uncomfortable but honestly, that's been the same in any short term rental we've used.So would I recommend any of the properties at Scarning Dale? Yes I would because for the money they cost, they are worth every penny.

Lovely stay in Rose cottage for me & my lab 'Freddie'. The walks in the woods & garden were beautiful. Good base to travel the area.

The cottage was nice but the TV didnt work, being the weekend could not do anything, shower needs a good clean. We had to leave on the Tuesday due to a family problem.
