About this property

This spacious property sits in a gated community in open grounds, on the outskirts of the village of Thetford. Previously featured in property magazines, 1 Aleutia Gardens boasts a magnificent bright and airy ground floor, combining open-plan living with tall ceilings to form a special living space for families and friends. Set entirely over the ground-floor, the property features many doors and large windows throughout, along with a generous open-plan living area that features a unique internal garden area with automatic sprinklers. Dust off those cooking books and relish in the amply-equipped kitchen, hosting a range cooker and conventional oven, gas hob and large centre island to assist with home-cooking. There is also a pantry cupboard for storage and a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Carry the conversation into the snug, equipped with a flatscreen TV and ample seating for all the family to gather round. Be sure to take advantage of the outside space, offering large expanses of lawn and woodland, with a more private decking hosting furniture, a barbecue and hot tub. The whole site is enclosed and gated but please keep a look out for the little ones in the outside space. When the night falls, catch your rest in any of the bedrooms, offering a king-size with en-suite shower, a double, bunk and twin, each neutrally presented with large wardrobes. Serving the bedrooms is two bathrooms, both featuring baths with separate walk-in shower cubicles, so you can choose how best to prepare for the day. When you’re ready to explore, there’s plenty of adventure in the vicinity; nearby Thetford Forest offers High Lodge and Go Ape, Segways and adventure playgrounds, while Banham Zoo hosts a number of animals. Just a short drive away is the Snetterton motor racing circuit, an absolute must for motorsport fans as it plays host to a number of major sporting events such as the British Touring Car and the British Superbikes Championships, or head to the historic city of Norwich for a range of well-established restaurants and shops. 1 Aleutia Gardens is a unique escape, whatever time of year.

Thetford, a sizable, ancient market town in Norfolk on the border with Suffolk, has a rich history that can be explored on foot via the many interesting trails and museums it hosts. The town of Thetford and the surrounding villages are more widely recognised by their fictional TV name, Walmington-on-Sea, from the 1980s television series Dad's Army. Thetford Forest, Britain's largest lowland pine forest, is just outside of town and home to a nature reserve and the Peddars Way National Trail. Excellent trails for all abilities can be found at High Lodge Forest Centre, making it a great destination for families, walkers, and cyclists. The kids will especially love the Squirrel Maze. If you're feeling adventurous, you can try out Go Trax or the Go Ape high ropes course, or you can simply unwind in the café and gift shop. Lynford Arboretum and Lakes is a fantastic destination throughout the year. The Grimes Grave Flint Mines and the Iceni settlement of Cockley Cley are located further afield.

We paid a lot of money to stay there with my 94 year old mum and was worried about her catching something ALso there was a pair of pants left on the toilet back piece which should have been removed. All windows has dead insects on and cobwebs Was a nightmare to just generally get the tv working my mum couldn’t watch her caranation street . And her other soaps . Not that I watch it but she do . I have taken pictures of this so it’s all true and spoken to sykescottages Jane ckarke 07576200580

    1. The kitchen and bathroom drains had a very strong unpleasant smell, we had to leave the window wide open in the bathroom as the smell was so bad 2. The BBQ was unusable as it was filthy dirty and covered in cobwebs and no gas available 3. The so called Kingsize bed as described in the listing was only a standard double 4. There was no welcome pack not even some milk and no starter pack of firewood for the wood burner as listed 5. The shower cubicle leaked and left a puddle 6. Some of the dining chairs had loose spindles and one fell out completely 7. There were no cleaning products available for the toilets or kitchen surfaces On a more positive note we managed to see a family of deer, squirrels and a pair of Jays in the surrounding garden which was wonderful. This could be such a wonderful holiday property if more time and investment was spent on cleanliness and maintenance
