Situated in the beautiful coastal village of Brancaster, this large house is excellently curated, with emphasis on cool styling, easy living and ultimate relaxation. Old Mill House is the epitome of practicality for a multi-generational family, two families holidaying together, or a group of friends.
Old Mill House is an attractive detached Victorian holiday home of traditional brick and flint construction, nestled right in the heart of the desirable village of Brancaster. Tucked quietly out of the way in a secluded private location, while still having very easy access to all the local delights this village has to offer - a great pub, a village shop selling delicious local produce and, of course, the stunning beach for which it is renowned. Extended and refurbished in 2022 to a very high standard, the house maintains original character while blending harmoniously with the new extension that opens up the house to a superb, large sociable open-plan kitchen/ dining/ living space with a warm glow from a funky neon sign - just the place to congregate, chill-out, catch up and chat after an active day out and about in this fabulous coastal area. The extremely fully-equipped kitchen boasts all Bosch appliances, including two eye level ovens, and a large American fridge/ freezer which provides both filtered water and an ice making machine. There is a choice of both formal and informal dining areas at either the table or a breakfast bar. French doors welcome the outside in, when the mood takes you. A small snug area at the far end of the room has comfortable seating, and a Smart television built into the dresser to keep you entertained, along with games and jigsaws.
Across the entrance hallway, is an elegant panelled sitting room with sumptuous corner sofa, a wood burning stove and another Smart television for when you choose to curl up and watch a film or your favourite series on catch up, and maybe a post Sunday lunch snooze! Also on this floor is a separate utility room with laundry facilities including a traditional pulley clothes airer, a wine fridge, space for a dog bed and a cloakroom. The boot room beyond is made for drying wet coats and dirty boots, and a boiler room with a clothes rail, is a great location for hanging a wet suit. Upstairs on the first floor are five inviting bedrooms, the master with super-king bed, television and steps leading down to a fabulous bathroom, a king-size room, also with an en-suite, another super-king bed that splits to provide twin beds, if preferred, a twin bedroom and, lastly, a 'cabin' room featuring a nautical theme and bespoke bunk beds - each room has been given their own individual personality with gorgeous fabrics, calm hues and luxurious beds dressed with beautiful bedding to ensure a wonderful night's sleep. A separate bathroom with a walk-in shower completes the scene.
Outside, the house has a spacious, fully-enclosed private garden with plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and where dogs and children can play safely within sight. There is a sunken patio for al fresco dining, sitting beneath a raised lawn. Facing south, this is a very sunny spot and perfect for soaking up the sun's rays throughout the day and early evening. Old Mill House provided the perfect holiday location for we 5 OAP friends. This spacious and beautifully renovated house was both luxuriously comfortable and highly practical. Super soft beds ensured an excellent night’s sleep after days spent exploring in every direction of this interesting part of Norfolk. Seals birds and wildlife for all to see! Panoramas filled with sky! Special mention must be made of the splendid boot room, drying facilities in the boiler room, and useful utility room all off a spacious rear entrance - and an outdoor sink and shower! We’ll be back! When you can tear yourself away from the coastal path, do not miss Castle Acre- a medieval village with remains of a Norman castle complete with earthworks and a priory. A hidden gem.

We had a wonderful stay at Old Mill House, which has everything you could possibly need for a great holiday, especially with a dog. The area is beautiful with great beaches (many) and many farm shops / cafes to visit. We would particularly recommend Drove Orchard for the shop and food options.

A beautiful house, with everything you could wish for. Safe enclosed garden for children and dogs! The outdoor dog shower was fantastic especially after a run on the beautiful beach at Brancaster. Such a lovely area we really enjoyed visiting Holkham Hall and grounds, Wells-next-the-Sea town and beach, and highly recommend a trip to see the seals at Blakeney point . Would love to return.
