Guests consistently praise its comfort, dog-friendly gardens, and proximity to local amenities and beaches. The kitchen is well stocked, and the property is perfect for relaxing getaways. While most found it clean and inviting, a few noted minor cleaning issues and the narrow spiral staircase. The cottage is popular with returning guests, who appreciate its charm and tranquil setting.
Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, though a small number mentioned dust, cobwebs, and minor maintenance issues. Overall, cleanliness is above average with only occasional lapses.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to beaches, walking routes, and local amenities. Guests appreciate the easy access to Snettisham, Hunstanton, and nature reserves.
Guests frequently mention the cottage's comfort, spaciousness, and cosy atmosphere. Beds and seating are described as comfortable, though the low ceiling in the attic bedroom and spiral staircase may be challenging for some.
The cottage is well equipped, especially the kitchen and utility areas. Facilities such as gardens, parking, and dog-friendly features are appreciated. Minor suggestions include more storage in the attic bedroom and a soap dish in the shower.

Here you can enjoy sweet dreams in the peaceful countryside, where the only sounds you will hear are bird songs and the sounds of the horses. The pleasant village of Snettisham offers something for everyone, whatever your age and whatever the weather! The beach here is enormous – wide and spacious. It lies almost 2 miles from the village centre and is a mixture of stone and sand, with a grassy area behind. At the southern end of Snettisham beach is the well-known rspb Nature Reserve. Here you will find a number of hides you can use without having to be a member. From the hides you can enjoy one of the country’s greatest wildlife spectacles. This is especially so when the rising high spring tides force thousands of birds to leave the mudflats where they are feeding and settle close to the hides.
Snettisham is a walker’s haven, particularly for dog owners, with the village having miles of public footpaths plus the ancient Peddars Way is found nearby. A firm favourite for children is Snettisham Park Farm, which is a working farm that offers hands-on activities. Along with the traditional farm animals, deer and llamas can be found here, plus tractor and trailer rides, making this a family fun day out. Again aimed at children, the traditional seaside town of Hunstanton with its sandy beach, promenade, sea-life centre and fairground rides is just a mere 5 miles away. For adults you will be spoilt for choice of where to visit first, with so many fantastic places to explore locally, such as the Royal Sandringham Estate, Holkham Hall, Norfolk Lavender and Houghton Hall to name just a few. Beach, shop and pub within 3 miles.

This is our 3rd stay at the Old Pay Barn. It's location is perfect for exploring North Norfolk. The barn is large warm and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equiped with a utility room and downstsirs toilet adjoining it. Plenty of hot water for showers with a lovely ensuite in the down stairs bedroom. Parking right outside and two secure gardens if you have dogs. Plenty of walks straight from your doorstep. Snettisham has a variety of small shops a cafe and a handy Co-op. The Rose & Crown in the village is a lovely pub which serves amazing top quaility food with a variety of beers and lovely wines. We will definately be back next year.

Had 3 days at the Paybarn early Feb 26. Lovely place to stay, well equipped, spacious, lovely and clean. We spent a lot of time in the barn as we just needed to get away for a relaxing and leisurely weekend so was excellent for that, lots of tv channels, lovely fire and comfy beds and sofas.Had a walk to the RSPB at Snettisham beach and ‘not so’ sunny hunny (Hunstanton)Will look to book again later in the year
