About this property

Bespoke furnishing and interiors combine with luxury touches and facilities to make May Cottage one of the very finest hideaways North Norfolk has to offer. Located in the coastal village of Titchwell, couples and small groups will fall in love with this wonderful property that features outstanding views of the coastline and the rolling fields that border the village. May Cottage offers a literal window to the surrounding landscape.

The upside down living design of this house mean that the two luxurious bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The elegantly wood-panel master bedroom hosts a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has twin beds that can be converted into a super-king on request, and features an exposed brick chimney breast. Both bedrooms are dressed using white five star linens, ensuring a comfortable nights sleep. Also located on this floor is the family bathroom offering slipper bath with separate walk-in shower. A well-equipped utility room leads out to the rear garden. The facilities provided are of a superb standard, giving guests an excellent, boutique hotel-style experience.

On the first floor, you have multiple options for where to relax. In the snug, two beautiful leather chairs are perfectly positioned to benefit from the warmth of the wood burning stove, with a beautiful bar billiards table behind. Large sumptuous sofas draw you in to the sitting area, beckoning you to nestle in to enjoy a film on the Smart television or dance around to the vinyl record player. On the same floor, a stylishly appointed well-equipped kitchen overlooks the fields to the coastline beyond. The adjacent dining area hosts a table with seating for six guests and offers views of the surrounding countryside. Bring the outside into this space by opening the large bi-fold doors that lead out to the rooftop balcony featuring glass balustrade. Spend sunny days positioned on one of the sun loungers, or enjoy al fresco dining sat round the french style bistro set. In winter months, grab your binoculars to observe skeins of geese noisily flying overhead, and at night you'll be able to stargaze in the clear dark expansive skies.

To the rear of the property is private hot tub area, which is accessible from bedroom two. Perfect for those long and lazy summers evenings, where you can take in the sunset after having enjoyed a day on the coast. A second glorious week here at May Cottage. Blessed with sunshine most of the time so we were able to enjoy all that May Cottage and local beaches could offer. I'm sure we'll be back again for a third trip in the near future.

May Cottage, Titchwell truly has it all. We stay in two cottages a year in Norfolk, and without hesitation, this has been the best by far. The cottage itself is wonderfully spacious, with a stunning interior that strikes the perfect balance between elegance and practicality. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered—there was absolutely everything we could have needed, and more. The hot tub was a sublime retreat, perfect for unwinding after a day exploring. Evenings spent on the decked area were magical, gazing up at crystal-clear night skies where constellations were clearly visible. Throughout our stay, we were treated to an ever-changing natural spectacle—birds, owls, and migrating wildlife right before our eyes. The location is ideal: peaceful and secluded, yet conveniently close to everything. An exceptional Tuscan café in Burnham Market is just a short drive away, while a stunning beach, a beautiful nature reserve, and a welcoming local pub are all easily accessible—even on foot. What truly sets May Cottage apart is the owners’ impeccable attention to detail. It’s clear how much care and pride has gone into creating such a special place, and it made this one of our most memorable holidays to date.

On 6th Jan my wife was rushed to hospital. She spent seven hours in the ambulance waiting to go into A&E. Two days in A&E and 'released' for 9th, seven days before our visit. It was touch and go whether we would go, but decided to go and have a relaxing holiday. My wife found the cottage very relaxing and comfortable to spend most of the days here. I would wander across to the nature reserve, most enjoyable. Breakfast at Byfords Holt excellent. Fish & chips at Wells. A lovely lunch at Thornham Deli recommended. We've been coming to the area for years and this cottage is the best by miles. Could we come again? Definitely.
