Kestrel Barn offers spacious, well-equipped accommodation with en-suite rooms, a large enclosed garden, and a games room. It's well-suited for large groups and families, with a convenient location for exploring North Norfolk. Some issues with maintenance and cleanliness were noted, but overall, guests enjoyed the property's amenities and setting.
Cleanliness received mixed feedback. While some guests found the property clean, one review reported a significant fly infestation and unclean bed linen, suggesting inconsistency in cleanliness standards.
There is not enough information to accurately score the location. Reviews mention a 'great location' and proximity to the coast and a nature reserve, but no specific details are provided to assess the location comprehensively.
The property is praised for its comfort, with ample space for large groups and all en-suite rooms. The enclosed garden adds to the comfort, especially for those with children or pets.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and games room. However, issues with a small washing machine, a non-working dryer, and boiler problems indicate some maintenance concerns.
There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored, and it should be noted that any additional amenities or gifts are not guaranteed.

The accomodation is amazing, plenty of room for a large group with all en-suite rooms. The games room is a lovely addition too. The kitchen is well equipped with a huge cooker. Unfortunately the washing machine is very small and the dryer wasn’t working. It was noticed that the PAT testing was last done 3 years ago! The garden is enclosed and large but as we came in November we struggled to see the path in the dark and as check in is at 5pm we struggled to see our way on arrival.

Fabulous accommodation for a family holiday. Well equipped and spacious . Lovely enclosed garden and the games room was a bonus. Parking on site and amenities within a short drive. Great location for exploring North Norfolk.

We have just returned from a week in the Kestrel Barn at Piggyback. I have never written a negative review before but feel compelled to highlight the awful experience we had so others can be made aware. We arrived on Monday at 5pm. It had been a long drive and it was starting to get dark. We had elderly family members that needed a rest but we were greeted with an infestation of flies. Every bedroom window was covered with hundreds and hundreds of flies and there were several dead flies on the windows sills, carpets and on the bed linen and towels. It was absolutely shocking! I immediately phoned the number in the Welcome Pack, and sent an email to the contact I had. I phoned several times and left voicemails and approximately an hour later, a cleaner arrived. I asked her to get rid of the flies and also replace the bed linen. She said that she would hoover up the flies but was not able to change the bed linen. Although the flies were hoovered up, it made us feel very uncomfortable all week.During the week, the boiler stopped working and we were left without hot water or heating. My husband went out and inspected the boiler, which had a sticker on it, noting that the boiler was due a service in June 2025 (four months ago). Again, the cleaner arrived and turned on the immersion so we could have hot water. It took all evening to warm up and we were still left without heating. When I raised these issues with the Piggyback team, they told me that the fly infestations are ‘normal’ in Norfolk, and ‘impossible to predict’. They told me that our barn had been cleaned the afternoon we arrived. Due to the sheer number of flies, I do not believe this.Since our return, I have raised these concerns with Piggyback Barns directly and actually requested a partial refund due to how unsatisfactory our stay was. I was accused of ‘threatening’ them. Please avoid!!
