Guests say

Beck View is a charming cottage in Sheringham, appreciated for its scenic location close to local amenities, beaches, and dog-walking areas. Guests have praised its comfort, character, and personal touches, though some noted areas for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance. The property's suitability for older guests and those with mobility issues has been mentioned, with its steep stairs and lack of parking space highlighted.

The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. While some guests did not comment on this aspect, one review mentioned a lack of attention to detail, with cobwebs and limescale present. This suggests room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the town centre, beach, and local attractions like Beeston Common. It is considered a prime spot for dog walkers and families.

Most guests found the cottage comfortable and well-equipped. However, some concerns were raised about the comfort of the beds and the steepness of the stairs.

Facilities were generally well-regarded, with the cottage being described as well-equipped. However, some guests pointed out issues with the shower pressure, heating, and a need for better lighting.

There were no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that could be categorised as 'thoughtfulness'. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

About this property

Beck View is a well-presented, end-of-terrace cottage in a tranquil spot along a quiet road, overlooking Beeston Common and its wonderful brooks, less than half a mile from Sheringham town centre in Norfolk. With access to a beach less than half a mile away, Beck View provides a great family home for those looking to escape to Norfolk. Upon arrival you are greeted by an off-road parking space, so you can easily unload your belongings. Step inside and discover the lounge, where you can put your feet up beside the woodburning stove and relax; continue through to the kitchen/diner, a light and airy space equipped with all the essentials for home-cooking, perfect for when you’re not sampling a local restaurant. A patio door leads out to the enclosed garden with furniture, providing an idyllic spot for an evening drink whilst you ponder on the holiday thus far. Alternatively, the front gravelled garden with views overlooking the common is an ideal spot for breakfast in the morning or enjoying a good book while catching the warmth of the sun during the summer months. Head upstairs and find the master bedroom, housing a king-size bed with lovely views over the common which can be enjoyed from the table and chairs within the room, whilst there is also a twin and sleek shower room. The land adjacent to the cottage also has a handy washing line and the surrounding network of streams provide an idyllic ambiance. The Blue-Flag Beach is just a short walk away, so be sure to remember your seaside essentials! Also in the same direction is the train station, where the Poppyline Steam trains regularly run from Sheringham to Holt - which is renowned for its selection of cafes, independent shops, antiques and regular annual events such as The Viking Weekend and the 1940s weekend which regularly attract thousands of visitors and transform the town. Close by are stately homes such as Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and the royal residence at Sandringham, whilst Beeston Common and Blakeney Nature Reserve are perfect for wildlife lovers and those looking to get outdoors! Local shops and eateries can be found in the town centre, or head further afield to Cromer, Southrepps, Overstrand and Mundesley for more amenities and attractions. Make Beck View your next escape to Norfolk.

Located on the coast of North Norfolk, Sheringham was once a quaint fishing village before the advent of the railways in 1887 transformed it into a bustling resort community. In addition to the Britain in Bloom, Anglia in Bloom, and Best Coastal Resort awards, Sheringham's beach has been given ten consecutive European Blue Flags for cleanliness. This picturesque historic seaside town features a year-round theatre in its coastal gardens, a lake for model boats, unique shops, tea rooms, a steam railway, golf, amusement arcades, and fish and chip cafes serving fresh seafood caught in the area. The cottage was very clean and welcoming the out side area is lovely one improvement I would recommend would be to make the grass area part of the enclosed garden we will definitely be returning

  • Victoria

It lies on the Beeston Common, close to the beach, Sheringham town centre, and the Beeston Bump. No shortage of things to do and a comfortable place to spend a few days or a week.

  • Paula

Proximity to the coast and town a bonus, with plenty of areas to walk the dog.
