Saltmarsh Hut is set in a breathtaking location at the end of a open field, offering panoramic views over the marshes and the sea in Stiffkey, North Norfolk. With an open-plan living space and en-suite shower room, featuring a king-size bed with a duck feather duvet and Egyptian cotton linen, along with a wall-mounted television just above.
The small kitchenette includes a sink, double electric hob and a mini fridge, along with all the crockery, pots, pans and utensils you may need. The underfloor heating and the electric stove adds cosiness on chillier evenings! The en-suite shower room includes a walk-in shower, wash basin and WC.
Outside the hut, there is a lawned area surrounded by a wire fence. A table and chairs are provided for al fresco dining, along with a firepit/barbecue. As part of the experience, there is a wood-fired hot tub available for an additional charge, which is heated by guests, offering the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the North Norfolk Coast. Outdoor lighting is kept to a minimum so the night sky can be fully appreciated. Feel free to bring a torch for additional light.
There is direct access to Stiffkey Salt marshes and the coastal path from Saltmarsh Hut. To make the most of your stay, we recommend staying at least two nights, giving you time to explore the popular coastal villages of Brancaster, Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham, and Cromer.
Nearby there is The Red Lion, and a little village shop which is known for its barista style coffees and croissants. The village is on the coastal path meaning you are able to walk for as little or as long as you like, with lovely views all the way along.
Golfing is available at Old Hunstanton Golf Club.
Sailing is available in the local village of Wells-next-the-Sea
Additional Information:
A wood-fired hot tub is available for an additional charge of £75 per stay. Due to the remote location of the hut, the wood-fired hot tub cannot be heated for arrival. This may take between 2 and 4 hours to reach temperature, depending on the weather conditions.
A starter pack of logs, kindling and firelighters is supplied for the hot tub, with more available to purchase from the village shop.
The hut is located in a rural location surrounded by open fields. The owner occasionally has access to the nearby fields.
Two well behaved dogs are welcome for a small additional charge. There is a wired fence surrounding the hut, but it is advised that dogs are kept on the lead, as very small dogs may be able to pass through. Please note that dogs must be kept off the furniture.
Due to the remoteness of Saltmarsh Hut, the hot water in the shower lasts for a couple of minutes at a time.
Parking is by the hut and accessed by a track through a meadow. Please note it is an uneven track.

Absolutely wonderful and spotless. As for the bed! Couldn't wait to get in it. Proper down duvet and pillows.Top quality bed linen. Everything you could possibly need. Milk in the fridge and a great bottle of prosecco. Great toiletries too and nice soft towels. Proper lined curtains so not awoken by the sun peeping through. TV with Netflix. Great. We used the firepit. Smashing. . Didn't use the hot tub. Loved the solar lights. I left something valuable in the hut.I got a phone call on our way home. The girls posted the items by recorded delivery. I am very grateful for that. Great views over the marshes to the ocean beyond. A wonderful peaceful stay. Thank you so much.

We had a wonderful stay at the Shepherd Hut in Stiffkey. The location was incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. We loved spending time taking in the beautiful views. The hut was very well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into providing guests with all the essentials. The combination of the tranquil setting, fantastic views, comfortable accommodation and excellent facilities made for a truly enjoyable getaway. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in a beautiful location.
