Tucked away within easy reach of Norfolk Broads and coast, it is hidden from view and nestled beside Sutton Windmill, and one of the tallest still standing.
The location benefits from sandy beaches and the famous Norfolk Broads on the doorstep. Sea Palling is just 14 minutes’ drive with an excellent sandy beach backed by sand dunes, cafés, pub, and amusements. Excellent walking can be enjoyed from the doorstep with the Weavers Way running through the town of Stalham and providing great opportunities to explore on foot or by cycle.
Sutton Staithe is your gateway to the Norfolk Broads connecting onto the River Ant. Daily boat hire and river trips available to explore the miles of waterways. Excellent river fishing and local lake fishing is also available (seasonal, and licence required) and The Norfolk Broads Museum (seasonal opening). The Broads and three pubs are all within a mile. The village centre of Stalham (2½ miles) has cafés, bakery, supermarket, chemist, petrol station, beautician, bank and eateries. Wroxham, known as the Capital of the Broads, (9½ miles) with shops, supermarket, cafés and restaurants.
During the months of November and January parts of Horsey beach are protected whilst the grey seal colony give birth, a great opportunity to visit and see nature up close. For great family fun days visit Bewilderwood, a tree top adventure in Horning, Roarr Dinosaur Adventure at Lenwade, indoor soft play, slides, outdoor adventure and splash park and Wroxham Barns with a small petting farm and play park.
The historic city of Norwich (15 miles) is worth a visit, having two excellent indoor shopping malls, market square, cafés, restaurants, pubs, cathedral, theatre, and castle museum. The livelier seaside resort of Great Yarmouth (16 miles) has amusements, fun fair, pier, shops and restaurants. Your holiday home hosts, Nick and Lisa, will be more than happy to advise on any local attractions or answer any questions you have when planning your itinerary. Beach 3 miles. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

The cottage was clean, and well equipped with everything that we needed. The odd minor niggles that we had were dealt with quickly by very friendly owners. The cottage is steps away from The Weaver's Way, a 60 mile public footpath, ideal for dogs and their human companions. All in all, a super few days. Highly recommended!

Our stay at the Millers retreat was excellent. The owners were so helpful and welcoming. The home was so comfortable and cosy, we loved the underfloor heating and powerful showers. We were so lucky with the weather too with lots of sunshine. Would definitely recommend.
