Guests say

Guests are overwhelmingly positive about their stays at Pillar Box House, praising its character, cosy atmosphere, and cleanliness. The well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and thoughtful touches like a welcome hamper are frequently mentioned highlights. The property seems to provide a comfortable and inviting space for various occasions, from hen dos to family gatherings.

Reviewers consistently note the property's cleanliness, with one guest specifically mentioning it was 'so clean, not a speck of dust'. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the overall positive experience.

While guests mention enjoying the local area, there are insufficient comments on the location itself to accurately assess a score. Therefore, the score is set to null.

The property is frequently described as cosy and inviting, with comfortable beds and a warm fire. The presence of a hot tub and the property's ability to provide a relaxing break suggest a high level of comfort.

Facilities are highly regarded, with mentions of a well-stocked kitchen, hot tub, and good Wi-Fi. However, a comment about the need for an additional loo indicates that while facilities are generally excellent, there may be room for improvement.

Guests frequently express appreciation for the thoughtful touches, such as welcome hampers and decorations. While these gifts are warmly received, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.

About this property

Gorgeous Pillar Box House is a large, detached and striking, three-storey pink house which oozes style and character. Perfect for groups of friends or a larger family or two, this delightful abode is located in the rural Norfolk village, yet in easy reach pubs, shops and the coast and beaches too.

Situated in the small, rural hamlet of Hackford which is mentioned in the Domesday Book, the neighbouring market towns of Wymondham and pretty Georgian village of Hingham are close by.

Named after the red post box in one of its walls, the character doesn’t stop there. With a commanding reception hall, inglenook fireplace, wooden floors and timbered beamed ceilings throughout, the property is beautifully furnished and styled to an exceptionally high standard.

From the moment you walk through the door you are in awe of the reception hall. With a spacious beamed sitting room and inglenook fireplace with open fire.

The kitchen and dining area are particularly spacious and well-equipped and perfect for entertaining and come with a wood burning stove, ideal for enjoying suppers with good friends or equally a quiet and cosy night in during the cooler months. With a stable door to the garden you can let the sunshine in when the temperature rises.

The beamed sitting room is a mix of period features and modern amenities, with an inglenook fireplace as well as Sky TV. There are two further televisions, one in the library snug and one in the luxury master suite, which occupies the entire second floor.

In all there are four bedrooms; the master king-size suite with en-suite shower room, two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom; there is a family bathroom too.

Outside the property has a private fully-enclosed garden and separate side garden with lawn. A hot tub in the garden is the ideal way to relax after a day spent exploring the area.

This stunning property as voted Best Holiday Cottage in the East by the Eastern Daily Press in 2022.
