Guests say

Guests have praised the property for its beautiful decor, high standards of cleanliness, and excellent location within walking distance to amenities in Barnard Castle. The enclosed garden is appreciated by pet owners, and the welcome hamper has been a delightful touch for many. Some guests have suggested minor improvements for comfort and maintenance, but overall experiences have been very positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The majority of guests found the property to be spotlessly clean and of a high standard. However, a few guests mentioned issues with cleanliness such as dog hair and a dirty toilet, which slightly lowers the score.

The location is highly praised for being ideal, with easy access to local amenities and attractions. It is within walking distance to the town centre, although some guests noted difficulty in finding the property initially.

Guests generally found the property comfortable and well-equipped. However, there were comments about the low sofa and mattresses needing improvement, which suggests that while the property is comfortable for many, it may not meet everyone's comfort needs.

The property is well-equipped with kitchen items, towels, and a welcome pack. Some guests mentioned the need for additional items like bin liners and bedside tables, and a few reported non-working items, which indicates room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

The welcome hamper was frequently mentioned and appreciated, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, this score reflects the positive mentions while acknowledging that such amenities may vary.

Rooms are spacious and well lit. Kitchen modern and well stocked. Would definitely come back.

We loved the high ceilings and well-equipped kitchen. We did have an issue with the kitchen taps but the owner was very responsive and sorted it out quickly.

Extremely well finished and a very homely feel - not that you were just staying in a soul-less holiday house. I would say it allows dogs rather than being dog friendly. There is a huge emphasis on not allowing dogs on the sofa or upstairs, which is detailed before booking so you know what you’re getting, but as a family dog who has the run of the house at home it made things a little stressful when sat at night. That said, it wouldn’t stop us booking again - we are already planning to do so!
