Perfect for guests who love to fish a licence can be purchased to fish wild brown trout and rainbow trout in the reservoir. Barnard Castle is a picturesque market town with shops tea rooms art galleries and vintage antiques shops. The surrounding landscape makes this a great spot for those to see the beautiful blue gentians bird s eye primrose and bluebells in the spring. An ideal base for exploring the North Pennines County Durham North Yorkshire and Cumbria.
Slightly further afield is the city of York Beamish Museum the Lake District and Hadrian s Wall. Nestled in the grounds of the owner s home where privacy is assured overlooking Grassholme reservoir. As you take the long drive down to the cottage with the view of the reservoir behind you will feel like you ve stepped into a postcard. The cottage is warm welcoming and can be described as a real home from home. On the ground floor there is a comfortable lounge with wood burner effect electric fire and original features the perfect spot to relax in front of the TV.
The spacious kitchen/diner is the perfect space to prepare and enjoy meal equipped with an electric oven and hob microwave fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is also a well-presented family bathroom with shower over bath and WC. When it s time for bed there are two bedrooms one with a double bedroom and a well-presented twin bedroom which once again have some of the most beautiful views looking out over the fields hills and countryside. Externally there is a garden area with table and chairs the perfect spot for sitting with friends and family and enjoying the views of the Grassholme reservoir.
