Plenty of space - it was great to have the second sitting room and the conservatory as well as the patio. The hosts were very attentive with a call about a week before we stayed and then shortly after we checked in. Just wished we could have stayed longer than we did!

We love the place and will most likely be back again. It looks nice from the outside - but inside its a whole different thing - its really lovely. A large living room that to be honest we didn't spend much time in. A lovely cosy snug with electrically operated recliner sofas with a nice fireplace. We spent a fair amont of time there! The kitchen is well appointed with a very nice range style double oven. Lighting in the kitchen could be better but that's about the ONLY negative point. Off the kitchen is the conservatory which again is nice and relaxing. This second year it was not as warm weather as the first year - so didn't spend quite so much time in there. The bedrooms are nicely done - and beds very comfy. I love the heavy curtains in the master bedroom - they feel "special" somehow - and the whole place feels a bit luxurious. We may not go back this next year - as variety is good - but I think its VERY likely we will be back again sometime soon. I should add that the owner is very nice, phoned a few days before the booking to make sure we know what the process was and to ensure she made up the correct beds etc, and to make sure we had contact details. Never "in your face" and we never heard from her during the holiday but knew we could call on her if we needed. One of our favorite places we've been to, and only 5-10 mins drive from Barnard Castle (please, you must visit the Bowes Museum!).
