We had a brilliant week at the manse.. The hosts went above and beyond to make our visit special. My granddaughter especially liked the hot tub. Plenty of walks nearby for the dogs . The accommodation is excellent with all you could need or want . We will definitely be back.

Fabulous family break for my 50th Birthday! The property accommodated 8 adults & one child easily with lovely communal spaces! Lesley, Saul & family were on hand to answer any questions & lots of information sent from Lesley prior to our arrival about the local area! The bus stop right outside The Manse made trips into Durham easy & enjoyable! The hot tub & sauna were fabulous & in summer the out door space including pizza oven will be amazing! Oh we also loved the Ninja slush machine, fantastic cocktails!! The Ginger Dog Pub within 10 mins walking distance serves amazing food, we visited twice! Highly recommend a stay at The Manse!! We’ll be back! 🩷

The Manse is an amazing place. Everything is catered for - from an ice machine to a sauna. The house feels like you're in a huge hug. It has a very homely feel, rather than a sterile environment. The pantry has a huge fridge freezer, the cupboards are filled with kitchen gadgets. There is a pizza oven in the laundry, two washing machines and a tumble dryer. We used it as a base to discover the area but it was always good to come back and get in the hot tub.The family that own it are really friendly and go the extra mile to make sure you have an amazing stay. They also check the hot tub every morning to make sure it is ok to use.There are TVs everywhere, not that we used them. Books, games and toys if you need them too. Blankets in the rooms, not that you need them as the house is really warm.Local shops are close with lots of choice. The Chinese was delicious, didn't get as far as trying the Indian (next time). We went to Beamish, High Force, Durham as well as a trip to The Lemon Tree in Tadcaster (my favourite tea rooms). We will definitely be back.
