About this property

A stunning ground-floor flat situated in a terraced townhouse with bay windows and a beautiful front garden bursting with shrubs, Claremount is the idyllic Northumberland getaway for a family or group of adults. Be charmed by the beautiful stone exterior of this property, passing pretty shrubs as you unpack and make yourself at home in this wonderful ground-floor flat with a view to the ocean. Be welcomed into a spacious sitting/dining area where bay windows allow in seas of light, making this an ideal spot for relaxing with a book and a glass of your favourite beverage, as well as a romantic meal for two at the dining table with a sea view.

The kitchen has plenty of amenities to help cook up a storm, and there is a handy utility to take care of all of your sandy clothes. Also on the ground floor you will be able to take a relaxing soak amongst the bubbles before snuggling up in the double bedroom. Alnmouth is a fantastic coastal town with a lot on offer for guests, beginning with a beautiful harbour, riverside walks and a sandy beach, so there is no shortage of views for you to enjoy. There is a selection of eateries, where you can enjoy a hot meal out, as well as Old School Art gallery and England’s Oldest 9 Hole Links Golf Course.

Further from the property you will find the historic town of Warkworth where there is a magnificent castle, ideal for history lovers who want to find out more about the local area, and the market town of Alnwick with many independant shops. Fall in love with the sea views at Claremount.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.

Luckily we had taken towels as there were none in the apartment, it was disappointing that there was not even the basics provided no tea coffee milk condiments or toiletries including washing up liquid, cloths etc The bed and the sofas are well overdue being replaced and very hard, we put cushions against the door to try keep draughts out but the apartment was cold. The back yard was basic but large enough for the dog to go out first and last thing but wouldnt be of any use in summer the outdoor bins were crusted with bird poo. This apartment could be fantastic but it needs some TLC. Checkin was 4pm and checkout 10am the cleaners stood staring in the window from 950am

It is looking tired and in need of refurbishment. The sofas are past their best and the throws need to be replaced especially the faux fur ones. The sink in the bathroom leaks the water quickly. The information pack is 6years out of date and needs updating including with instructions on how to work the central heating, although we contacted the owner and he was very helpful in getting it to work for us. There is a lack of basic essentials and a clothes aired would be helpful to dry towels etc as there is no facility in the yard which is also in need of a makeover. Having said all that we enjoyed our holiday as we come to alnmouth regularly but unfortunately will not be staying at Claremount. Margaret

The shower needs fixing or replacing There's hardly any water pressure If you switch it to high then it is either scalding hot or ice cold If you leave on medium setting then you can control the temperature but the water dribbles out
