Percy Cottages No4 is praised for its fantastic location, close to Alnmouth's beautiful beach and local amenities. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, linens, and the warmth of the cottage. While some find the property charming and well-equipped, others suggest it could benefit from modernisation and a deep clean. The management team is noted for their responsiveness to issues.
Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the property very clean and others noting it requires a deep clean, particularly in the kitchen. Dust and grime in certain areas were mentioned, affecting the overall perception of cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach and local amenities. Guests love the ease of access to Alnmouth's attractions, making it an ideal spot for a holiday.
Guests find the beds and seating comfortable, with good quality linens and towels provided. However, some reviews mention dated decor and the need for modernisation, which slightly impacts the overall comfort.
Facilities are seen as adequate but in need of updating and maintenance. Issues with kitchen equipment, heating, and lighting are noted, alongside positive comments about provided amenities. The mixed feedback suggests room for improvement.
The property provides a welcome pack and pet treats, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as these gifts are subject to change and not guaranteed, they are a pleasant bonus rather than a consistent offering.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. The bins were a mess. We spent 20 minutes sorting them. Things chucked in withopen wrappers. Sorting mouldy stuff into black sacks and making sure the right stuff was in the recycling bin. Generally the place was tidy inside. As lots if others have said the Kitchen is very basic, the plug has no chain and stick in the hole. It needs replacing. The oven was smoky and could do with a proper clean. The bed on the main bedroom was very uncomfortable the springs have gone in the mattress. Itâs lumpy. We did enjoy the stay in Alnmouth it's a fantastic location but would probably stay in a different cottage next time.

I would definitely go back Itâs very comfortable The kitchen is very old and could do with a little revamp . The WC behind the kitchen was not usable as it wouldnât flush which was a pain but the upstairs was fine ( very narrow doorway to get through). The noise from the the front street was okay but we did move to the twin back bedroom for a quiet sleep. I would come back as it was a great wee cottage. Great for the wee dog as it wasnât pristine so we didnât worry too much ( although we put covers in all the furniture. As we do whenever we go away) Alnmouth is lovely Thankyou for our stay it was very restful and a great wee get away in a lovely location x

Yes, itâs a little battered around the edges, but it was very comfortable with everything you could possibly need for an affordable seaside break. We enjoyed the free view tv on the dark evenings and made use of the games in the cupboard. I did bring a novel home with me but will leave one next time! It was wonderful to have everything provided for the wood burner but the weather was so fabulous during half term that we didnât need to light it. A washing machine instead of the downstairs toilet wouldâve been useful, and (as mentioned before in the reviews) do something about the upstairs bathroom door! But these are minor things and certainly didnât affect our stay. We were mum, grandma and two under 12s. Alnmouth is delightful and we have been many times but the first time to Percy Cottage. We will certainly be back to this cottage
